Gravity - Not My Ideal Embrace
Back to Full Blog

I know I'm clumsy. I've known this for the majority of my life. However I was not aware that my clumsiness had reached a level on par with bad sitcom humor.

I'm sitting in my wing back chair with the laptop on my knees and watching the cat on the table beside me. He's batting at my cell phone and a pen.

Smack!

They land on the floor. I leave him the pen to bat at and lean over to look for the cell phone. I think it went under the chair.

I lean a little further over. Where is it? And lean some more.

And fall headfirst from the chair in a heap on the floor with a laptop, a startled cat and a pen.

The cell phone was indeed under the chair. At least I was right about that.

"This is more embarrassing than the time you started cleaning your beans at Don Knotts' Christmas party."

Yup, Fred - that ascot wearing blonde bimbo from Scooby Doo - said it right this time.

Whisper: I wish I had. I also wish I could have caught my cat on video last night. He likes to squeeze under the very small space of the potato bin in the pantry to pick up pieces of kibble that are dropped occasionally and roll back there. Halfway there he gets stuck and for about two minutes all you see are two hind kitty legs pushing at the ground. I'll give him credit, he kept at it until he finally popped out the other side.

I just thought that I would drop a line to say hello and to see how you are doing. As for clumsiness, I have a tendency to drop things all the time. Especially in the kitchen.

Thanks for the Batman review. I will have to check it out when I get a chance.

Big Al: Why is it that whenever something is most often dropped, smashed or picked up improperly it has an alarming tendency to be a sharp or painfully pointy kitchen utensil?

One time I heard this crazy guy say that gravity was just Earth's way of saying, "I want to hug you!"

Unfortunately, no matter how you look at it, beating him over the head is still considered assault.

Seven: Unless, of course, you pointed out that without gravity you wouldn't have been so successful at those downward blows. So, in a way, you were helping gravity hug him. Very, very tightly.
