Girl and Dog in the City

Something a lot of people seem to fail to realize when calling in for technical support is that if you immediately begin the conversation with a representative with a poor attitude you're not going to get assistance as easily.

It's very difficult to help someone that is launching themselves verbally down your throat as soon as you say "Customer support, this is NightBug."

The desire to help plummets about as fast as the lady on the phone is diving down said throat.

It's also difficult to continue "assisting" this person when they persist in slamming insults left and right and won't shut up long enough to hear your explanation of what the error is.

And then they get offended.

Seriously...calm down. I don't care what your title is, but if I'm trying to help you and you're not doing the steps I'm telling you to, why do you continue to scream hysterically into the phone and expect me to remain cheerful?

NB!
No wonder when I have to call they love me. I praise them and call them the demi gods on the other end of my life line! Seriously!
When we are done with the whole ordeal I tell them if I were to have other children I would name them after them. They love it and I have fun!

BTW I had a dream with you in it and mentioned it on my blog.

cuz someone has already jumped down their throat and they know they is in trouble and you are the one with the magic wand and they are upset cuz you don't use it. WHAT? You STILL haven't found it?

BTW...what's this I here about you spending your time saving chairs from drowning?

Whisper: Ah, I love customers that are sweet and nice. It makes the job fun and wonderful and also very rewarding when you help them.

As for the dream - I sent a comment on it at your blog.

Do you think it has any real life application in regards to your interpretation or is just a "step back and keep an eye out for helping"?

Heather: It's a national pastime actually. It's becoming quite the popular thing to do! Just wait - football and baseball will have nothing on drowning chair rescues.

Perhaps you can turn that into a reality show on the Spike channel and make some big bucks and retire as the chair rescue champagne, I mean, champion of the world!

The interpretation I had was that I view you as a very ethical and moral person. As far as myself, I can be a bit lazy and need to step up.
That is what I have gathered so far.
I actually have interpreted dreams for bloggers before and hit it on the money. When I can interpret the dream the answer is quite open to me. Its pretty fun.

Why would someone call tech support needing your help & then jump on you? They need YOUR help.

One time a long time chattering/stuttering customer was in my boss' office asking all kinds of questions over & over talking really fast. Boss finally said "if you'd shut up long enough & listen I'll be able to tell you!". He did. You'd have to know this customer.

I'm always nice when I call CS. I deal with customers all day long so I know how it feels.

There is something about the anonymity of being on a phone or in a car that unleashed the Hulk in some people.

Strange.

Oh didn't you get the memo? Here's how it works:

--> Since YOU are not the CEO, COO, VP, SVP, or SUV you're an idiot because you don't have that title attached to your name!

---> You don't make as much money as they do, so you're automatically beneath them

---> They're deathly afraid that you are going to prove what an idiot THEY are, so they get the jump on you by hurling insults from the first second on the phone!

Just trust me on this. It's true!
