Girl and Dog in the City

So, I've finished two short stories and have sent them out for (hopefully) a pick up by a publisher. I prefer anthologies to magazines, but at this point I'll take whatever I can get.

I'm not sure if these two will make it in the markets I submitted them for, but here's to hoping! I'm excited regardless because the more I write the more practice I get.

I would mention the car, but I live in fear of the jinx.

As I'm sure a lot of people know, I love to scavenge. If I drive by and see something abandoned with a 'free' sign on it, I have to stop and check it out.

That's how I've decorated the house so far - taking in old stuff and fixing it up new. It's affordable and really healthy for the environment to reuse as opposed to buying new.

Well, today, I hit the monkey box motherload and it's perfect for my dad for father's day.

Speakers, amp, and electric guitar. They all work. The guy who was tossing them said he just didn't have room for them in his new place.

And that, boys and girls, is all that I have to say at the moment. Yah, yah, boring me and not much goofy chatter lately, but I'm so busy!

Great find! I'm all for recycling and hate seeing perfectly good stuff thrown in the garbage.

And if you can get it for free.....My Scottish soul rejoices!

While I applaud your attempts at saving the planet from certain doom by recycling things that would otherwise end up in the landfill, I think that the old tire as a living room chair is a bit much. And did you REALLY have to string together all of those buttons & bottle caps to make draperies?? I won't even comment on the flies that are attracted by the half eaten pepperoni pizza that doubles as a gigantic coaster on your 1959 Chevy Impala fender/coffee table!

You'll notice I didn't mention anything about haivng had good luck with the car this week!

I know several people that find things people are throwing out. My friend at work got a whole bedroom set for her children that way.
