I think it is interesting that once someone finally broke the barrier and hugged, the rest thought it was okay.
There is a dude that travels around and did this and his beginning was the same and once it caught oon it got fun.
Thanks for the share.
*gives you a big hug*
Did I mention that I can't wait to get back to Maryland to read the book?
My hubby refused to read it to me over the phone.
Geez, what good is a great hubby if he can't read you a book?

Some people are afraid to express the emotions that compel them to need a hug. A hug signifies that perhaps one needs comfort or help. Some people aren't comfortable admitting that.

And by some people I mean me. 8-)

But that's wonderful there. I wish we could all feel comfortable enough to hug . . . even if it were a stranger.

Whisper: It was an experiment for a sociology class and you're right on the money about it needing one person to break the flow and have others join in.

I think it's a phenomenal video. Honestly, we all need to be more open like that I think. Of course, these days, it's kind of hard. But, what good things are easy to come by in life anyway?

Whisper:

P.S. I still haven't gotten my contributor copy. Gah! You're going to read my story before me. Hahahaha.

Adam: I'm going to hire a troop of people to track you down and give you random hugs throughout the day.

It's good to hear from you! How have you been? I'm terrible for visiting blogs these days because Blogstream is getting ridiculously slow. It takes forever to load the pages and by then my brain has switched over to something else.

Example:

Me: "Oooh, I'm going to go read blogs. Wweeee."

*waits*

*waits...*

*still loading*

Me: "Oooh! Something shiny!"

I had to contact them, they had it as if I already had received it when I hadn't. You might want to do the same.

So I click on the box to find out about the free hugs, and I get "This Page Cannot Be Found" .

Now I need a hug!

Sybil: Isn't it though? Maybe we should all try and do something just a little bit extraordinary each day and see what happens.

Hmm..I wonder if I can use that statement above to justify running around my parking lot with a bed sheet and pretending to be Superman.

I remember the orignial Australian "Free Hugs" video and I'm delighted to see the idea catching on.

I was at a Health, Work and Wellness conference last year where one booth was giving free hugs and the number of people turning their heads and walking by was discouraging, mainly because I would love to have stopped for a hug, but didn't want to be first.

So I walked straight passed the booth. And then I stopped and thought, "What kind of wuss are you?" and not wanting to discover the answer to that question, I turned and when back and got my hug.

However, I never did see anyone else at the booth getting hugs. Must have happened, though, just not when I was around.
