 Work Be Gone

I want a can of "Work Be Gone" so freaking bad tonight.

I came into the office to a whole load of emails. Alright, no problem. I can do that, right?

First, I began a printing job. 28 copies of brochures that are 257 pages long each. Okay, started that.

Second, I started reimaging a machine (essentially reinstalling a new operating system, etc).

Third, I began updating hundreds (literally - I do not exaggerate here) of accounts.

The phone rings.

And rings.

and RINGS.

I'm fielding phone calls, rushing to finish the image, rushing to grab the brochures before they overfill the printer tray every few minutes and still updating the accounts.

My mood plummets. An hour after getting to work I was close to eating my telephone out of rage.

Okay, perhaps I wasn't that bad, but like Hulk - I wanted to smash. Unfortunately, with my luck and (as Bryon calls it) my Doom Cloud, I would have just broken a hand...or my spleen.

 Typey Type

So, I've finished two short stories and have sent them out for (hopefully) a pick up by a publisher. I prefer anthologies to magazines, but at this point I'll take whatever I can get.

I'm not sure if these two will make it in the markets I submitted them for, but here's to hoping! I'm excited regardless because the more I write the more practice I get.

I would mention the car, but I live in fear of the jinx.

As I'm sure a lot of people know, I love to scavenge. If I drive by and see something abandoned with a 'free' sign on it, I have to stop and check it out.

That's how I've decorated the house so far - taking in old stuff and fixing it up new. It's affordable and really healthy for the environment to reuse as opposed to buying new.

Well, today, I hit the monkey box motherload and it's perfect for my dad for father's day.

Speakers, amp, and electric guitar. They all work. The guy who was tossing them said he just didn't have room for them in his new place.

And that, boys and girls, is all that I have to say at the moment. Yah, yah, boring me and not much goofy chatter lately, but I'm so busy!

 My Car Rebels

My car is driving me insane.

It started out that the engine would shut off even while driving with no forewarning. Then it stopped idling. Now it is idling rough with a serious engine knock.

With the help of K, we've replaced the front O2 sensor after a code threw twice on it, checked the spark plugs, checked the fuel pump, replaced the throttle sensor, replaced a collapsed vacuum hose AND replaced the ignition coil.

After each replacement the first test drive has the car running smooth and slick with more horsepower and get up then before, but after that it's right back to square one after starting it a second time.

I look like a grease monkey, but I will admit that I've had a lot of fun poking around in the engine. Nonetheless, I want the ol' girl to get back up off the sick bed and DRIVE.

I haven't written at all today on my stories. Gar! I need to write, I have deadlines.
